Listening to Saxon while playing Zaxxon
I used to spend all my allowance on new wave records and Atari games.
River raid and Heaven 17
Pitfall and English Beat
Missile command and the Clash
So It's a strange thing to play these anthology games my kid has. It's all the Atari games on one disc, and the soundtrack is Berlin, Squeeze and other acts of that ilk.
Guess I wasn't the only one listening to those records while playing those games.

Weird, but I rarely associate songs with the video games I was playing at the time. I associate them more with totally random crap I was doing at the time I heard a song.
I'll never forget the time Bryan and I were sort of helping his dad work on the family station wagon, the one Bryan would total when he got his license.
We had the car radio on. And a young Johnny Cougar was singing "Johnny can't read, but Johnny can dance."
And Bryan's dad remarked: "Sounds like Johnny can't do shit."
Bryan's dad was always perceptive that way.
